About Startup Weekend

Introduction:

 

Startup Weekends are 54-hour events where developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams and build products.

Many people come to Startup Weekends with an idea to pitch their Entrepreneurial ideas to investors.

Surrounded by smart, passionate people and with the best tools and approaches at disposal, participants will take giant leaps toward creating a business, becoming a founder. This program starts at 6 pm on Wednesday and continues till 9:00 pm on Friday. At the end of the program, teams present their projects to a panel of referees from the community of investors and university professors and entrepreneurs. This event is globally supported by reputable brands such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon and more.

 

A brief history of Startup weekends:

In 2007 Andrew Hyde founded Startup Weekend in Boulder, Colorado. Startup Weekend brought 70 entrepreneurs together. In January 2010, Marc Nager and Clint Nelsen took over full ownership and registered the organization as a not-for-profit, relocating to Seattle. As of the acquisition, Startup Weekend had organized approximately 80 events in the USA, England, Germany, and Canada. The model quickly expanded to cities around the world.

To date, more than 1000 Startup weekend events have been held in 480 countries.

 

Stem cell: 

Stem cells are unique cells, they have the ability to differentiate into many different types of cells. They can also replicate rapidly. Stem cells play a huge part in the body’s healing process, and the introduction of new stem cells has always shown great promise in the treatment of many conditions. It wasn’t until we found out where and how to isolate these cells that we started using them for transplants.

Stem cell technology is a rapidly developing field, which combines the efforts of cell biologists, geneticists, and clinicians and offers hope of effective treatment for a variety of malignant and non-malignant diseases. Stem cells survive well and show stable division in culture, making them ideal targets for in vitro manipulation.
